The world needs more Omega Luke being overly protected by a family solely composed of Alphas, mate and children included.

Because YES.

It starts before he is even born. Anakin and Padme teasing each other as they stroke over her belly. Padme thinks it's a boy who is an Alpha while Anakin thinks it's a girl who is an Alpha. Anakin is the one who is right, sorta...but won't see this to come to fruition. Both are still so happy and in love and protective because this is *their* baby.

Obi-Wan realizing the baby he is tasked to bring home is not like his sister, can sense this is an Omega, and feels a rush of protectiveness for the little one who was brought into such a scary galaxy, to a scary planet, to a life that is not easy for any Omega...but particularly *this* one. Owen and Beru almost second guessing taking on this little one. They are Betas and Tatooine is not kind. But they hold him and love him and vow to keep him as safe as possible. They teach him how to hide this part of himself away, not from shame but to keep himself safe because he is too good to be lost in this galaxy. He is someone who is there to be bright and happy and make a change of Light. he needs to be protected. After their loss, and the loss of Obi-Wan, he meets a found family and they see what everyone else sees, even before they know his gender. Leia just *knows* something about him belongs to her and she needs to protect him for life. It is only confirmed when they realize their relation to each other and Leia hates the stars for making her brother this supposed "chosen one" who has to face all of this darkness. Han, Chewie, and Lando do not like people getting close to Luke. Lando puts his hand on Luke's waist often just to give off the illusion he is taken so no one else can get close. Han veers people away with snark and glares. Chewie looms close and growls.

Don't get close to Luke when Artoo is nearby just...just don't...seriously. Don't. That droid has a body count. And a lot of the bodies are for Luke and he is happy to add more.

Darth Vader...Vader was unsure how to respond. It certainly changed some plans. Because this is Padme's boy. This is the boy she wanted and the Omega they never expected to have. Maybe it was genderist of him, maybe he was a blind Alpha fool, but he did not want Luke, this precious boy, this gift as a warrior. Maybe he would change his mind, maybe he was taken over by more than the Alpha brain but of Anakin, the man who should be long dead, who was always far too protective for his own sanity. Regardless, he wanted his boy, his Omega child, and he would have him.

But Luke has him in the end. And, now dead, Anakin will possessively watch over him until they are reunited in the Force.

No one thought anyone could be worse.

Welp, they hadn't met Din Djarin.

Din is a mess over Luke. Luke who is so perfect. Bright, brilliant, fierce, powerful, strong, funny, beautiful...Din and his Alpha hindbrain go blind the moment they meet. Now that he is training Din's ad'ika, it's all the more reason to be obsessed. He may do a little stalking but it's fine because this is HIS child and HIS Omega.

Luke certainly doesn't seem to mind.

He really doesn't mind when Din starts to stay more and more...and then urges maybe changing the location of this school. "Mandalore is safe now. It needs rebuilt. It needs a school."

And maybe it's Luke's Omega brain talking but that sounds like a grand idea.

Of course, it doesn't stay very political or professional long. The two can keep their hands off of each other and Luke is probably pregnant within a month. It's the trigger that makes Din keep the saber, accept that it came to him for a reason, and now takes the throne because who can protect HIS Omega and babies better than Din as a king?

Is he using the position selfishly and for Alpha brain and family purposes? Yes. Do the people care? Absolutely not.

They have a lot of babies; both through pregnancy and as foundlings. And every. single. one of them are protecting their papa.

Luke finds them ridiculous. He's probably the most powerful person in a room. Any room. Pick it. Even if he's not in said room, he's still the most powerful.

It doesn't matter. This is papa. This is Omega. they need to protect and possess and keep safe forever.

I bet Grogu and Luke gossip through the Force about Din but Din has Dad-Mode and almost always knows they're plotting to steal the cookies from the top shelf.

It's more like Dad-intuition. He knows when Luke are Grogu are gonna steal the cookies because they have a sugar addiction. Of course they gossip through the Force, how else are they gonna call Din a spoil sport without being reprimanded.

oooooooo one of my all-time favorite fics!!! all birthed from @starboundanon's genius. I decided I'd do what I like to imagine happened after the fic, after Din and Luke finally mate and Luke sort of settles into his life.

"Darling. Why don't you stay inside today? Just coming off your heat, you're bound to be a little... riled up."

Din scrubbed his nose and frowned a little, eying Luke where he was going through his closet.

"Also a little fragrant, still. Your father will absolutely not allow you to leave."

Luke ignored his mate and husband, rummaging through his closet. Every scrap of clothing inside was entirely unsuitable to actually leave the palace in, all of them long gowns, sheer and most of them white. Luke looked back over his shoulder towards where Din was sitting by the windowsill, helmet off and eyes dark.

"Is there anything in this godsdamn palace I can wear that will allow me to walk on my own two feet?"

Din, incredibly helpfully, shrugged, and rose to his feet.

"Why do you want to go out anyway? Supposing we could even get your father to agree."

Luke turned on his heel towards Din, one blonde eyebrow raised.

"You don't remember? What you said, during my heat?"

Din shook his head, stepping closer to Luke until he could wrap his hands around his slender waist.

"Remind me."

Luke smiled a little at that, mischievous and lovely.

"You said you'd give me a baby."

Din's eyes widened comically, and he tightened his hold on Luke imperceptibly.

"You thought I was being serious? I was just trying to get you off,"

Luke pouted, pushing his husband away.

"You promised me a baby. Now get your helmet on, help me into one of these stupid dresses, and we're going to go get one."

Hello sorry to bother you but I noticed your Dinluke Tangled fic has been deleted on AO3 and was wondering if you were aware of this or if it was accidental? I really loved that fic (and I know heaps of others do too) and I’m saddened to see it go but I will respect your decision if you did remove it intentionally. I just wish I could’ve saved/downloaded it sooner 😭

So, I've actually been meaning to make a post about this (sorry Vanilla, I know this ask has been sitting in my inbox for a long time!) This post will ramble on a bit, but moral of the story is, I am in the process of editing and making tweaks to the fic to reupload it onto AO3 as an orphaned work. Further explanations will be below the cut but feel free to move on, they’re not that important, lol!

When I deleted my fic last year, it was at a time where the dinluke fandom, somewhere I had found so much joy and solace in for over a year, had become a place that just started to make me uncomfortable. I avoided the tags, I downloaded a few of my favourite fics from my favourite authors (who are still some of my beloved mutuals <3) and moved on.

The fic in question, a tangled AU I had written back in 2021, was probably the most prevalent work I had created for the fandom. I wrote it in a time where I needed something light-hearted and warm and fun to write, and writing this fic really did bring me so much joy. Even more so was the response that it received while I was publishing it. I could tell that there were readers who enjoyed reading it for the exact same reasons that I enjoyed writing it, and hearing everyone’s thoughts and feedback every week is part of what made writing this fic so special. Every fic author understands how wonderful it is to share your work with an audience and be able to talk about it with them.

But then the dinluke discourse became more prevalent, and I started noticing more comments on the fic that interpreted the ship and the ‘roles’ of the characters in a way that ... didn’t really make me comfortable. Yes, I had Din as the ‘Flynn Rider’ character and Luke as the ‘Rapunzel’ character, but I felt that that best represented their characters in canon - with Din as the seemingly rough on the outside but warm on the inside one often brushing against the law, and Luke as the driven, optimistic, and sometimes reckless one who is endlessly hopeful. But there were some people in the comments who just wanted to see luke as a typical damsel-in-distress disney princesss, which isn’t what I wanted, or wrote, at all.

And so, having removed myself from the fandom, I removed the fic, too. Looking back, even though I don’t regret what motivated this decision, I do regret removing it from AO3 so quickly and without warning. I know there were people who loved it - I did too - and if I had known more about the option to simply orphan a fic and leave it up on AO3, just not associated with your account, then I think I would have done that instead. But at that point in time, the fic just served as a reminder of how hostile some parts of the fandom had grown, and how I didn’t fully feel comfortable being in a fandom I loved anymore. I didn’t even think I’d ever come back.

But now I am, lol. I’ve reached a point now where I’m comfortable existing in my own corner of the fandom, discussing the ship with my mutuals and sharing content with them, and that’s brought back a lot of the joy that I’d missed. I’d even started to go back to my google doc with the tangled AU fic’s original draft, going through and editing and tweaking it just to remember that joy of writing it. And so, I decided that I want to put it back up onto AO3. I’ll republish the chapters once I’ve finished editing them (the first few are already done) and once it’s all back up, I’ll orphan the fic. That way it’ll be there for all of those who had originally joined me in the journey of writing it, who made me smile every week with their wonderful comments. The fic has always been for them.

Anyways, that got a little melodramatic, lol. I’ll probably start publishing the first couple chapters later today. Other than this post, I probably won’t be mentioning it much more on this account, and simply moving on with the dinluke (and now jedi fallen order oops) brainrot 😂. Stay well everyone! xx

Grogu: BUIR!!! *Babbles happily playing with toy mandalorian figures, toy speeders all next to a real live, tied up and grumbling Luke under the tree. Clearly kidnapped and clearly pissed off.*

Din: "I like mine too."

Luke is NOT amused. His face is bright red and he's sulking trying to urge Din to untie (aka unwrap) him so he can kick his ass for doing this.

Din just smiles at him and gives a casual shrug, "I think I have the best gift, kid."

Grogu nods and squeals, "Lu!"

"Yep. Our Luke. But Buir gets him first."

okay im obsessed with this like-

luke is typically put into the school teacher/caregiver role in au's so i am so here for it being din's time to shine, because we see him with grogu and we know he good and kind to children so like in a jedi au, him being a creche master makes so much sense actually AHHH

im just imagining that like he and luke grew up in the temple together, din a few years ahead, and he and luke always kind of saw each other around but he neither really thought anything of it. and like years down the line din moves pretty swiftly through his padawan trials and training and was given a position in the creche rather quickly. cause like, din just has a way with kids. one wouldn't think it, he's reserved and a little grumpy at times, but he has the most patience, the most understanding, the most love that he gives to the younglings that anyone who visits the creche while he's on duty gets it immediately, luke included. and luke im just thinking of this moment where luke stops by for some reason and sees din in his element and his heart kind of skips, ya know? and then after that he kind of starts hanging around a bit more, offering to help, and din just kind of smiles but accepts the extra hands. and like once din is granted the title of master, luke (who is a knight himself at this point) kind of like, makes it his mission to go and prove himself as a knight- show the skills that he has as well - and like every time he comes back from a mission he'll go to the creche and tell all the younglings about his adventures and the good that's out there in the galaxy and he and din just sort of... drift together. a lot of stolen glances and soft brushes of the hands and it just all builds up into this explosion of a kiss and then suddenly there not just din and luke but dinandluke and it's kind of a secret but everyone also knows about it and it's just them both serving the order but finding a special home in each other

When will you update again? I love How To Court The Emperor's Son. Also Obikin is endgame.

I've been pulling a ton of hours at work since mid January. Not to mention we've had people quit in my department so it's all hands on deck, sadly. I've got some days off coming up and plan to write then.

I love Obikin so much, it's been my go-to ship to read about lately. I imagine them in a Morticia and Gomez scenerio. Also Anakin Bottoms in that fic cause I say so.

“Din Djarin. Mand’alor the Uniter. Mand’alor the Redeemer. Tell me,”

Vader paced in front of the mandalorian’s bowed form. 

“Are you praying for redemption right now?”

Din raised his head to glare at Vader, fire in his eyes. He had been stripped of his helmet, his beskar armor, left only in his flight suit. The troopers hadn’t been gentle with him either- he was sporting a bloody nose, and his left eye would be black in the morning. 

“What the fuck would I need redemption for? Of the two of us in this room…”

Din spat blood at Vader’s boots, struggling against his cuffs. 

“It would seem like you’re in desperate need of redemption. Genocidal maniac like you,”

Vader stopped his pacing for a moment, staring down at the blood splattered on his impeccable black boots. 

“Enough of this. I did you the courtesy of this audience only to satisfy my son- whom you shall never see again. You and your companions shall be executed without fanfare. I will display your armor as proof of what happens to those that try to steal what is mine.”

Din yanked against his cuffs, rattling the chain connecting them in the wall viciously, feral snarl curling across his face. 

“You fucker. He means more to me than he ever will to you. To you, he’s a possession. Something you can display, dress up, play house with. To me…”

Din hung his head, emotion overwhelming his voice that turned ragged. 

“He’s my husband.”
